Use the methodologies freely inside your own organization.

Ask for a license before you build them into something you offer to others.

The methodologies and the materials on this site are published by Syzygy Technology Services LLC (“Syzygy”), which holds their copyright.

Any organization, commercial or not, may do the following without permission and without charge:

• Use the methodologies to manage its own cybersecurity and cyber risk.
• Adapt them to its own structure, terminology and tools.
• Copy the materials on this site for its own staff, including for internal training.
• Say that it uses the methodologies, by name.

You do not need to register or tell us. We would still like to hear how it goes.

An organization that uses the methodologies internally may describe that work to others. Its people may, without permission and without charge:

• Present their experience with the methodologies at conferences, in talks, on panels, in papers and at similar external events.
• Use the materials on this site in those presentations, including diagrams and passages from the articles, with attribution.
• Share the slides or a recording afterward, with the attribution left in place.

How to attribute

What this does not cover

It does not cover paid training, consulting or other services offered to others, which are commercial use. It also does not allow suggesting that Syzygy endorses you or your organization.

You need a commercial license from Syzygy to:

• Build the methodologies into a product or service that you offer to others.
• Provide consulting, training, assessment or certification to others that is based on them or offered under their names.
• Sell or distribute materials derived from the ones on this site.

• You may quote short passages with attribution and a link to the source.
